Gopeng Wan Tan Mee

There is one old authentic shop called Gopeng coffeeshop. It is located in old town, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, along CIMB and opposite RHB bank. You will easily miss it if you are not looking for something attractive from the exterior. The shop was quite "dark" and not refurbished as the other shops in old town. Something not attractive looking at all...

But if you look carefully, there are two stalls in front of the shop, one Indian rice and one selling wanton mee. Right in the middle, they put up some Portugese egg tarts, still-in-oven curry puffs for sale. We went in for a plate of wanton mee, expecting the least but to our astonishment, the wanton mee was simply gorgeous looking!

the mee is cooked to the right texture...
the sauce was ... something different...

prawn and meat wanton...

  6. Actually this is called Metro Cafe, reana.
And the Indian curry rice next to this stall serves GREAT food. Try that, esp on Mondays and Wednesdays when the lady serves mutton.
