Best Pan Mee In Ipoh

Best pan mee in Ipoh... now I know where.. so far, this shop has the best panmee and it is at the Kopi Tim coffeeshop in ...er.... behind Tesco... near the Kizuna Japanese food. But there are two pan mee shops there, do not be misled by the shop called Pan Mee, the original one is exactly opposite, 2nd shop...

Oh, one more thing, you have to wait at least half an hour for this bowl of pan mee... make sure u r not too hungry, but if you are, there is just a dessert stall next to this panmee stall.... the desserts are fantastic... I will post them up tomorrow..

yummy...this week i will go again...

Rojak In Maxwell Road

We wanted a light lunch and we ended up taking just a plate of rojak between both of us. All I can say is, if you want to eat in comfort, do packet back.... do not stand and eat it there, the discomfort is really terrible.. the heat.. no chairs.. i guess sooner or later, he has to find himself a shop to go to, otherwise he will be getting less and less patrons no matter how nice his rojak is..

Rawang Keng Kee Coffeeshop

I love coming back to Keng Kee coffeeshop, Rawang for the food they served. Cannot get them here in Ipoh.. especially this tai lok mee cooked with yummy yam, the flavor just comes out from the mee itself. Very unique style of cooking I can say.

and the steamed clams are something to look
forward to as well. Very fresh and springy too...

Lunch At Rawang

On the way to KL, we stopped to have lunch in Rawang, we love to have lunch there, either in Lan Jie Restaurant or the tai lok mee near the KFC. Unfortunately, Lan Jie was not opened on that Thursday and we ended up taking our lunch next door. Forgot the name of the shop cos it didnt cross my mind to take the picture.
Anyway, nothing to shout about cos it was expensive too...

melon soup...

sambal kangkung

foo yoong eggs..

steamed talapia...
and the bill came to RM59 plus rice and drinks
which I felt was a bit expensive...

Nyonya Colors 1 Utama

By now I think most of my readers know I have sweet tooth/teeth for desserts. Here I was in this 1Utama savoring the desserts/kuih from Nyonya Colors, never seem to miss a visit each time I go down south. But unfortunately, no bubur cha cha or red bean dessert so ended up drinking cendol and wheat instead. Equally good, yes.. especially the cendol, so creamy!

Kitchen Equipment

In another few years time, I have thoughts of retiring for good. What will I do next? Well, what else to do but to travel, right? But of course provided that I have extra cash, lol.... My colleague and I always have this conversation on what we are going to do when we retire. She is almost same age as I am and when she retires, she has plans to open up an eatery shop, more of a cafe sort of style. She is very enthusiatic about it and I feel the excitement with her as well because she is a very good cook and will make a good chef one day.
We are planning to do a smaller scale first, maybe start with a cafe and if everything goes on smoothly, we can expand. We will need a lot of cooking equipment and a kitchen that is like a convenient store where all utensils are within reach. Most important is the portable induction cooktop and we need to search for more information on these kitchen equipment before we really sit down seriously to start our business. :)

Home Recipe Restaurant.. A Disappointment

My sisters and I had a simple dinner when we came back from Camerons... I took them to Home Recipe just opposite Wooley food court in Ipoh Garden. We ordered three dishes only for four of us and it was a great disappointment for the fish curry dish.

The fish was more stubborn than me! We cannot even eat the the skin nor the flesh.. my goodness, I complained to the lady boss, she kept silent.. no comments, nothing.. aiyoh! At least apologise la.. right?

only the pumpkins was nice...

To Jelapang

Kong, Elin and I went to Jelapang for our light lunch. WE love to go there for desserts but this time we did not order the famous rojak... instead we had this and some fried meehoon. Nevertheless, they were more than enough for us... next time we must go for our ice kacang, rojak and coconut water. I like all these road side stalls, they have more varieties and of course, more flavor too!

my favorite apom balik (peanut pancakes)

some fried stuff...
\
my favorite bubur cha cha
Seeing all these are scary, right?
Yes, I must go for my diet again.. sigh..

Strawberry Moment Desserts Cameron Highlands

Thanks to Motormouth's blog, we managed to find Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe... We had a wonderful time here savoring some desserts, specially made from strawberries. I heard Ipoh will be opening a branch soon but I worry that with the slightly high price, the business will not be brisk.
In Camerons, it might be able to "survive" because of tourists... in Ipoh, I am not so sure... well, I know of one patron who will visit this when it opens in Ipoh... MY SON... he sure will go again!

banana choc mousse cake

choc indulgence

strawberry crepe

blueberry strudel

strawberry milkshake

One day I hope to visit more places and one of them includes Hanalei Bay Resort vacation rentals. I would get the best deals here in this website.

Metal Roofing

Lately I notice that after a heavy downpour, my ceiling asbestos was left with a yellowish patch above my son's bedroom. That only proves one thing, that is my roof tiles must be broken or misplaced and the rain managed to seep through and dampened the asbestos in the room. I better do something fast before further damage is done. How I wish there is a man in the house who can look after the maintenance, well, I guess I better do my own research online to find out more.

Going through the Internet I managed to come across this information on metal roofing. What I need is permanency, the price might be higher but over the years, it will be very worth it. This website on metal roofing sounds concrete to me, made from high quality, the cost might be higher compared to others but then metals are durable and nearly maintenance free performance in the many years ahead. At least I am rest assured that the metal roofing on the exterior will protect against heavy winds, extreme temperatures and other environmental concerns. Installing these metal roofing will definitely enlighten my burden and worries in the long run.

Woolley Woolley

"Girl, what do you want to eat today?" That is always the question I asked each day to my girl and what she normally answers will be fried rice or maggi mee... sigh... she does not like white rice or chicken rice, does not like chicken nor pork but only fish! Hard to serve her, right? Day in and day out, cracking my head what to cook or eat outside.... I have to abide to her appetite...

normally we order a plate of fried rice like this
and divide between both of us..

then a plate of greens... stir fry..

eating here is not bad.. Woolley...
air con and free wifi..

A Protein Breakfast

After drinking some oats, I still felt some hunger in me... was I really hungry or just greedy for food? I guess it is the latter... so eventually we went for a light breakfast. My light breakfast is two pieces of bread with two half boiled eggs. That was a satisfying breakfast...

Hor Lok Coffeeshop in Persiaran Greenhill serves the best half boiled egg so far...my opinion of course. Maybe there are better shops serving these.... can anyone recommend any in Ipoh?

Dinner At Tuck Kee Restaurant

It has been a long long time since I last stepped into Tuck Kee Restaurant in Pasir Pinji. When my sister suggested going there with our canadian guests, I did not hesitate... The food there has improved tremendously over the years. Upon entering it did not come as a surprise to us when it was crowded with people.
Thank goodness my sister had ordered the dishes earlier and our meal came after a short time...

bean curd with enoki..

fishlets in ginger..

sambal kangkong

claypot chicken

turkey meat balls in claypot..

and fried rice for our guest, David..
The bill came to RM115 plus rice and drinks..
for seven of us...
